As new musical The People in the Picture prepares to open at Studio 54, starring Broadway favorite Donna Murphy as a 1970s New York City "Bubbie," we asked fans to choose a favorite role from the two-time Tony winner and stage chameleon’s resume. The fans have spoken, and Murphy’s Tony-winning turn as Fosca, the sickly heroine of Stephen Sondheim’s Passion, walked away with an easy victory, taking home 28% of the vote.
Coming in second was Murphy’s other Tony-winning role, Anna Leonowens in classic musical The King and I with 23%, and her Broadway turn as Ruth Sherwood in Wonderful Town came in third with 17%.
With such an impressive set of roles to her name, Murphy is set to wow audiences again with her latest part. Head to Studio 54 to catch her in action in this Roundabout Theatre Company production. Thanks for voting!
